Anyway, progress is good on the Grimthorpe East set, with around 20+ building kits done or almost done. Some require a little adjustment before I carry on, but these are minor woes overall, and things are coming along nicely. The intention is to include around 50 buildings at least, plus accessories and stuff, enough to give you a good selection and variation for your builds, plus I'm trying to keep them as simple as possible to reduce build time.

40K Deathguard Army: Proxy Poxwalkers (Probably) : CP Models Plant Creatures.
So, more Nurgley Chaos goodness with this possible proxy unit of poxwalkers that I painted. Now, this lot were originally from CP Models (apart from the front model, which I'll address in a bit) and are from their sci-fi range and are intended to be B-Movie type plant creatures. (These models can be found here… Continue reading 40K Deathguard Army: Proxy Poxwalkers (Probably) : CP Models Plant Creatures.
40K 8th Ed Army: Deathguard: Chaos cultists: CP Models Sci-fi Trenchers.
So on goes my quest to get my 8th Edition 40K army finished, and this time it's my first unit of deathguard chaos cultists. These figures (of which so far consist of 12 models) come from CP Models in their Sci-fi Trench warfare range, and are a mix of both Brits & Germans. You can… Continue reading 40K 8th Ed Army: Deathguard: Chaos cultists: CP Models Sci-fi Trenchers.
40K 8th Ed. Deathguard Army: Chaos Spawn: Envy Demons (CMON)
So these spawn are from the board game The Others: 7 Sins from CMON, the Envy expansion, which I got for quite a good price on Ebay. I think it ended up working out at around just over a £1 each, and for the quality and size of the models is a pretty good deal.… Continue reading 40K 8th Ed. 40K 8th Ed: Deathguard Army: Chaos Spawn models part 1: Scibor Chaos Snails.
As an alternative to the standard GW Chaos Spawn models for my Deathguard lot, I wanted some old skool weirdness and something that would be sticky and icky, with a Nurgle-esque vibe. Scibor has some lovely models from their Chaos Dwarves range, and I've been eyeing them up for ages. The price was a prohibitor,… Continue reading 40K 8th Ed: Deathguard Army: Chaos Spawn models part 1: Scibor Chaos Snails.
40K 8th Ed: Deathguard Army: Custom Hellbrute W.I.P. 1
So I'm trying to get some kind of 8th edition 40k nurgle Deathguard army together, just to get back into the game (haven't played it since 4th edition) but I really wanted to use as much customised and independent companies stuff instead of GW's VERY expensive stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love their stuff,… Continue reading 40K 8th Ed: Deathguard Army: Custom Hellbrute W.I.P. 1

Rogue Stars: Let the ideas start to flow!
So, with Osprey's Rogue Stars ( Rogue Stars: Skirmish Wargaming in a Science Fiction Underworld (Osprey Wargames) ) winging its way to me through the post (yes, I succumbed to it in the end, the temptation was far too great!) I really look forward to getting it so I can have a really good read to… Continue reading Rogue Stars: Let the ideas start to flow!
Osprey’s Rogue Stars: Is it any good? Give me your recommendations?
So, been browsing about, and I've noticed Rogue Stars: Skirmish Wargaming in a Science Fiction Underworld (Osprey Wargames), which has caught my eye with a prospect of getting it. I absolutely know jack s**t about it, only that it seems like an attempt at a mini skirmish game attempt from Osprey to get some of… Continue reading Osprey’s Rogue Stars: Is it any good?
